Susie’s approach is non-judgmental, trauma informed and compassionate.
My first priority is to build a strong relationship with you to ensure a healing environment where you feel safe, valued and accepted. Next, I offer evidence based treatment that builds on the unique strengths and preferences of each person.
All treatment modalities are informed by an anti-oppressive approach that is culturally safe and inclusive. Susie is a First Nations and Metis ally who strives to decolonize her practice and honour Indigenous world views.
Susie believes it is important to examine mental health and well being through a lens that appreciates social, historical and environmental factors that lead to individual distress. Holding this awareness allows us to have more self-compassion and to find a more empowering path towards healing.
Our work together will be based on your life experience, values and strengths, combined with my training in psychotherapy. This ensures that therapy is tailored to the individual, while drawing on a wide variety of therapy modalities.
